Former governors to keynote Healthcare Staffing Summit

What will the results of this year’s presidential election mean for healthcare? Former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean and former Utah Gov. Michael Leavitt will debate the issue on Nov. 9, the day after the election, during Staffing Industry Analysts’ 14th annual Healthcare Staffing Summit in Washington.

Staffing Industry Analysts President Barry Asin will moderate the debate.

Dean, a past Democratic presidential candidate is also a doctor, supporter of universal healthcare and past chairman of the Democratic National Committee. He founded the organization Democracy for America, which aims to empower the progressive grassroots to take democracy back from corporations and the wealthy while aggressively combating growing income inequality.

Leavitt, a Republican, served in the cabinet of President George W. Bush as administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency and Secretary of Health and Human Services. He is the founder and chairman of Leavitt Partners where he aims to help all players in the healthcare system navigate the future as they transition to new models of care.

The Healthcare Staffing Summit runs from Nov. 8 to Nov. 10.
