Largest healthcare staffing firms get larger

According to Staffing Industry Analysts’ recently released 2016 Largest Staffing Firms in the United States report, 20 out of the 134 firms on the list reported healthcare as their largest staffing skill segment.

The report lists the estimated revenue for all staffing firms that generated more than $100 million in US staffing revenue in 2015, as well as each firm’s market share and largest skill segments. The report ranks firms by our estimates of their US staffing revenue.

Collectively, the 20 firms reporting healthcare as their largest skill segment generated $7.3 billion in US staffing revenue, though we note that this revenue includes all of a firm’s US staffing revenue (not just the portion derived from placing healthcare workers, for example).

The three largest US healthcare staffing firms in 2015 were AMN Healthcare with $1,435 million in staffing revenue, CHG Healthcare Services with $1,120 million, and Cross Country Healthcare with $753 million. Any company revenue not associated with staffing is excluded.

As seen above, all three firms improved their ranking compared to 2014. This was true for most other healthcare staffing firms on the list as well, reflecting both the robust growth and the active M&A environment that healthcare staffing is currently experiencing.
