X, formerly Twitter, could allow users to search for jobs, report states (India Today)

21 August 2023

In what looks like an attempt to compete with job-search portals like LinkedIn and Naukri.com, X (formerly Twitter) might soon allow its users to search job postings online, reports India Today, citing a report by news agency Indo-Asian News Service. Last month, it was reported that organisations verified on the platform will be able to list jobs on the social media site. It was also reported that organisations will be able to list up to five open roles though speculation as to the exact type of service remained unconfirmed.

The IANS report showed that Twitter users will soon get access to a job-search feature, through which they will be able to find jobs via the platform. An account covering news related to Twitter, X Daily, posted that the handle XHiring had already started posting job listings that were visible only in the US and recently updated that job listings were also visible for iOS users in the US. However, no posts or media were visible on XHiring’s page as of today. Chris Bakke, former CEO of job-matching platform Laskie that Twitter acquired in May, responded to a user asking how will they know who is hiring. Bakke wrote, "Job search, but more importantly– matchmaking to qualified opportunities — both coming soon." Bakke also responded to X Daily’s tweet updates covering XHiring’s posts. “Free Hiring features are available for 100% of Verified Orgs, and jobs are visible for all web and iOS users in the US. Android and non-US rollout coming very soon!”, Bakke wrote.
