World – Tech Round Up: GoodWall and Randstad Innovation Fund, RecruitNow

GoodWall, a professional development network for young talent billed as the “LinkedIn for students” announced that it has successfully closed its Series A funding with $10.8 million. The round was led by the Randstad Innovation Fund and Manixer, a Geneva-based private equity firm. Other investors participating in the round included Francis Clivaz, Zurich Cantonal Bank and Verve Capital Partners.

The network matches college students and graduates to employers and internship opportunities. Its high school students get connected to colleges and scholarships. GoodWall’s core demographic includes 14-24 year olds.

“We’re excited to support the Goodwall team in building a new segment with college and graduate demographics after their success in creating a unique and positive community to gain support, receive guidance and opportunities,” Paul Jacquin, Managing Partner from the Randstad Innovation Fund said. “The level of engagement on Goodwall has been impressive and unique in its community aspect. We are thrilled to bring the platform to its next chapter of growth.”

Online recruitment specialist RecruitNow, based in Amersfoort, Netherlands, announced that it has received a capital injection from venture capital fund Walvis.

“The capital injection enables RecruitNow to further innovate its technology, the sales to scale up marketing activities and to expand the partner network,” RecruitNow said. “To customers, RecruitNow includes temporary employment agencies, recruitment & selection agencies, detachers and corporates.”

RecruitNow customers include Luba Employment Agency, Randstad, Tempo-Team and others. RecruitNow was previously known as Minescape, which was founded in 2003.

The exact amount raised was not disclosed but it was said to be a “substantial investment”.
