World – SThree appoints new CEO

28 February 2019

International specialist recruitment firm SThree appointed Mark Dorman as CEO, taking  over from current CEO Gary Elden on 18 March 2019.

“An entrepreneurial and tech-savvy executive, Mark’s energy and relentless focus on results will be central to the delivery of our mission to bring skilled people together to build the future”, SThree Chairman James Bilefield said.

Dorman joins SThree from McGraw Hill Education, where he was president of higher education, international and professional, for five years.  Prior to McGraw Hill, he worked at information services firm Wolters Kluwer where he was initially VP of their Legal Markets Group before becoming CEO of Wolters Kluwer Law & Business.

“This is an exciting time to join SThree”, Dorman said. “With an ever-increasing demand for STEM skills globally, an experienced team and a portfolio of strong brands in place, we have a unique opportunity to build on the success that SThree has seen under Gary’s leadership”.

SThree had announced in December that current CEO Gary Elden would step down. Elden had joined the group in 1990; he was named CEO in 2013.

“His passion, expertise and unswerving commitment over nearly three decades has served the SThree business well and we wish him every success in the future”, Bilefield said.
