World – Impellam merges, rebrands MSP businesses in US and UK

03 October 2018

Impellam Group plc yesterday formally announced the merger of its US and UK talent acquisition and managed solutions businesses — rebranding them as Guidant Global.

In the US, the MSP businesses had operated under the Bartech name. Impellam had acquired Bartech in a $120 million deal in December 2015. The Bartech brand will remain after today’s announcement for its staffing operations.

Guidant Global operates in more than 80 countries, managing more than 200,000 people across 89 clients annually. Impellam maintains other MSP brands, including Comensura, Lorien and Medacs Global.

“With a vision firmly grounded in the future, by bringing together these two Impellam businesses, we will create one stronger brand with synergies and expanded capabilities across multiple geographies that will benefit all stakeholders,” said Julia Robertson, CEO of the UK-based Impellam Group.

In a trading update issued last week, Impellam stated that as a result of the subdued trading performance in the healthcare and UK retail sector as well as exchange rate movements, it expects EBITDA for the 2018 financial year to be lower than in 2017. At the same time, the group’s CFO Alison Wilford resigned with Impellam appointing Brian Porritt as Interim Group CFO until a replacement is recruited.
