Global retained search firm ZRG Partners has acquired Holker Watkin, a London-based search firm focused on placing strategy and transformation professionals in Europe and other markets.

The deal closed on 25 June but terms of the transaction were not announced

Holker Watkin was founded in 2000. Professionals placed by Holker Watkin focus on developing business strategies for the future growth of firms. 

“Strategy and transformation professionals are those who have career experience as a senior level strategist and as a seasoned operator in industry, and are sought by private equity firms to work with the leadership teams of the private equity portfolio companies driving the initial transformation and value creation program,” Justin Holker, founder of Holker Watkin said in a statement.

“The business has been successfully partnering with private equity firms and global multinationals in the search of high-level strategy and transformation talent for senior-level roles and interim assignments,” ZRG Partners CEO Larry Hartmann said.

ZRG’s acquisition of Holker Watkin will add $11 million in annual revenue and bolster the firm’s presence in Europe.

Holker will continue to lead the firm. His title will be president of Holker Watkin, and he will report to Hartmann.

“The ability to now expand our offerings globally and broaden our talent solutions working side by side with the ZRG team will allow us to partner at a deeper level with our clients,” Holker said.
