UK – MP introduces flexible working bill in Parliament (BBC News)

18 July 2019

Conservative MP Helen Whately introduced a flexible working bill in Parliament earlier this week as she called for flexible working to be the default position for all employees, rather than it being up to individuals to request, reports BBC News. She said the move would help close the gender pay gap, assist parents to share childcare, and help businesses keep staff. The bill was passed on first reading and given approval to go to a second reading where MPs will debate the main principles of the bill.
