Online job board Glassdoor, part of Recruit Holdings, announced its 2019 ‘50 best places to work in the UK’. The list is based on a survey of UK-based employees in the past year and is also based on their feedback provided on Glassdoor’s site, alongside the numerical ratings, which are on a scale from one to five.

Utility company Anglian Water came in at the top spot, beating last year’s number one company Google.

“The workforce is clearly proud, passionate and really cares about the work they do, which results in a really positive culture and working environment,” a review from an Anglian Water Asset Delivery Manager stated.

Meanwhile, Reed Specialist Recruitment ranked 28^th with a score of 4.3. The top-ranked review stated, “I have worked for Reed Technology for over 13 years and I still thoroughly enjoy working within my role. I feel supported, guided and appreciated for the work I do.”

Alexander Mann Solutions, a London-based supplier of RPO and MSP services, a new entry to the list, ranked 50^th. The top-ranked review stated, “Flexible ways of working. Really empower their staff at all levels to get the job done. Great office environment. Makes coming to work enjoyable.”

The top three firms were Anglian Water, consulting firm Bain and Company and logistics company XPO Logistics.
