A group of financial investors and healthcare groups are tabling offers to acquire control of NHS Professionals, a specialist organisation within the NHS recruiting and supplying temporary doctors, nurses, and corporate staff, reports Sky News. Bids are expected to value NHS Professionals at approximately £50 million. The Department of Health have asked bidders to lodge proposals to buy a majority stake in NHS Professionals and marks an attempt to part-privatise NHS Professionals following a previous effort. It follows the NHS’s plan to reduce reliance on staffing agencies.
