UK – Average advertised vacancies reach 19-month high

01 August 2017

Average advertised vacancies in the UK reached a 19-month high (1,202,573) in June 2017, the highest number recorded since October 2015, according to Adzuna’s latest report on jobs.

The report states that despite uncertainty from Brexit and the general election, jobseekers and employees have more options available than at any other point since the autumn of 2015.

Meanwhile, London has shown an annual increase of 0.2% in advertised salaries in the year to June, the first time in two years that there has been an annual increase in average salaries in the capital. The report also showed that salaries in London are at £39,232, with 265,568 advertised vacancies available. In South East England, there was a 2.3% year-on-year decrease, with advertised salaries at £30,986.

“The rise in the number of vacancies highlights the resilience of the UK jobs market,” Doug Monro, co-founder of Adzuna, said.
