Online retailer Amazon is set to create 400 new jobs in Cambridge for a new research and development centre related to its drone delivery programme, reports the Independent. The R&D centre is due to open in the autumn with Amazon recruiting machine learning scientists, knowledge engineers, data scientists, mathematical modellers, speech scientists and software engineers. Amazon also announced that it would be hiring 1,200 new permanent workers for its site in Warrington as it continues to expand in the UK. It stated that after this year’s expansion, its UK workforce will reach 24,000.
