The seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate in Switzerland increased to 3.4% in August from 3.2% in August 2015 according to data from the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
The unemployment rate increased for the first time in three months and was up from 3.3% in July. Meanwhile, the number of job seekers recorded an annual increase of 4.8% to reach a total of 201,989 registered job seekers.
There was also an increase in reported vacancies for the month, while the number of short-time workers also declined by 13.1% compared to the previous month.
