Switzerland – Michael Page Swiss Job Index shows growth in advertised jobs in May

The Michael Page Swiss Job Index recorded an increase in advertised jobs of 1.1% between April and May 2017. The increase continues an upward trend since January 2017.

Meanwhile, the number of advertised jobs increased by 11% for the period between January to May 2017.

The increase in jobs was driven by categories for IT specialists and bankers, followed by engineers, pharma/biotech and project managers.

"We are seeing particularly strong demand in regards to IT specialists, engineers and project managers across all industries, and specialists in the pharmaceutical industry,” Charles Franier, Executive Director at Michael Page, said. The increase in the number of jobs in the banking sector is specific as it primarily focuses on private banking and investment services. "

The Michael Page Swiss Job Index lists the number of jobs advertised on the websites of companies based in Switzerland.  The index covers the main market trends in recruitment in enterprises, regional characteristics, segmentation specific sectors and professions.
