Switzerland – Michael Page Swiss Job Index records increase in job ads for September

The number of jobs advertised throughout Switzerland, between September 2017 and September 2018 increased by 11.7%, according to the Michael Page Swiss Job Index.

Monthly growth stood at 1.9% across Switzerland. The Swiss Romande region led the growth in advertised jobs with a monthly growth of 5.7% (August 2018 - September 2018). Advertised jobs in the German speaking region grew by 1.3%.

The index found that demand for facility managers, administrative, IT support, logistics and sales specialists was especially strong.

“We are seeing continued growth for specialists in key industries where streamlining and digitalisation of business process is required including IT and logistics,” Nicolai Mikkelsen, Executive Director, Michael Page, said. “As we move into the budget season, we are also seeing especially strong demand for administrative specialists. The scheduled conclusion of real estate developments ahead of winter, is also driving demand for professionals in this field e.g. facility managers.”

Among regions, the Northern region recorded the highest monthly (5.9%) regional growth, followed by Lake Geneva (+4.3%).
