Switzerland – Job ads up in October: Michael Page

The number of jobs advertised throughout Switzerland grew by 17.6% in October 2019, year-on-year, according to the Michael Page Swiss Job Index. Monthly growth across Switzerland stood at 0.3%.

The IT sector continued its dynamic growth in advertised jobs with demand especially high for systems specialists.

The German-speaking region, which accounts for 9 out of 10 advertised jobs, recorded a monthly growth rate of 0.3% and an annual growth rate of 17.7%. This compared with 0.4% and 16.3% respectively in the Swiss Romande.

The Central Region (LU, NW, OW, SZ, UR, ZG) showed the strongest results with a monthly growth rate of 2.1% and an annual growth in advertised jobs of 15.9%. Advertised jobs in all regions showed strong annual growth. The limited regional monthly growth is a seasonal trend.
