Sweden - Volvo Trucks plans production increase through employment agencies

15 August 2012

Swedish automotive manufacturer Volvo Trucks has announced that is looking to take on nearly 500 new workers through employment agencies according to Esmerk Swedish News service

Johan Jinhage, Factory Director for Volvo Trucks in Tuve, is reported as say the company wishes to achieve a level of flexibility where it is able to adjust up, as well as down, based on its demands. The recruitment agencies Adecco & Lernia are being used to source the workers

Ove Holmström of the employment organisation Metallklubben states that permanent employment would have been more optimal from the organisation's perspective; however, negotiations between Volvo and Metallklubben regarding the recruitment of personnel on one site are still on-going.

The move is important as it is similar to the recent actions of BMW and other car producers in Germany , which we have previously covered.
