Spain – Randstad reports the average outplacement time is 4.3 months

The average time for professionals who access a Randstad outplacement programme to find a new position is 4.3 months, according to study data released Friday by Randstad Spain.

96% of the participants found a satisfactory solution, of which 75% do so before finishing their programmes. In addition, eight out of ten participants find a new work project with the same or better conditions than the previous one. 86% of the people who relocated did so with an indefinite or long-term contract and 14% did so through a temporary contract.

According to data provided by the Spanish Ministry of Labor and Social Economy, collective dismissals decreased between January and November of last year, with 24,215 cases, 44.54% less than in 2021, being the month of December when a rebound in layoffs begins.

Randstad’s study found that seven out of 10 outplacement participants come from banking and industry — it found 37.3% came from banking and 31.8% came from industry.

Outplacement participants are also concentrated in Madrid and Barcelona. More than half of outplacement participants, 64%, are located in those cities. The rest are distributed throughout Spain with the highest concentration in Valencia, Basque Country and Galicia.

By type of role, 49.8% of outplacement participants are in technical and administrative roles, 31.7% are operators, 13% are intermediate-level managers and 5.5% are managers.
