The number of temporary employment contracts in Spain that converted to permanent contracts totalled 708,131 from January to October, a year-over-year increase of 23.2%, Randstad Spain reported. It was the largest increase since 2012.

This data shows temporary work is increasingly a bridge to stable employment, according to Luis Pérez, director of institutional relations at Randstad.

In addition, the report found that Andalusia is the province where the most permanent contracts, 49.8%, were the result of conversions from temporary contracts. Extremadura came next at 48.9% then Navarra at 43.9%.
