Spain – Most workers with higher education are satisfied with their employment

23 March 2017

According to data from Randstad Spain, 79% of workers with higher education are satisfied with their employment.

The data also shows that 73% of professionals with secondary education and 72% of workers with primary education are satisfied with their employment. This means that, according to Randstad, the higher the level of training, the higher the level of job satisfaction.

When analysing the data of the last three years, the report reveals that all groups registered an increase in their level of satisfaction, which increased by 7% in the case of workers with higher education. Those employed with secondary and primary education registered growth of 5% and 3% respectively. Workers under 25 years of age showed the highest rate of satisfaction, followed by professional between 25 to 45 years of age.

"In general terms, the most influential reason for the satisfaction of Spanish workers is either wage or economic conditions. But other aspects that the professional takes into account when feeling happy with his or her job are long-term security, a pleasant work environment, the future projection in his position or work and life balance,” Luis Pérez, Director of Institutional Relations at Randstad, said.

Randstad's analysis also reveals that 77% of the professionals in Spain are happy in their current job, which is equivalent to 14 million employed Spaniards are satisfied with their job. This figure implies an increase of 8% compared to the figure reached in 2014 (69%).

"The increase in the level of job satisfaction allows us to see a progressive recovery of the employment situation in Spain, although we still have a long way to go. Profiles with higher education are the most satisfied because they are also those who access more easily to a job adjusted to their profile and better working conditions,” Pérez said.
