Spain – Majority of young jobseekers face challenges in finding a job (ABC.es)

14 August 2017

The majority, or 88% of Spaniards aged between 23 and 30, have difficulty finding work, reports ABC.es with survey data from employment portal Trabajando.com and Universia. The data showed that the difficulty in finding work mostly comes from having little experience (89% of respondents). Meanwhile, 42% of respondents believed that they can offer creativity and innovation to a prospective employer, as well as a high motivation (33%), a good personality (13%) and their knowledge (8%). Half of those surveyed, or 50%, believed that having attended a good college or university ensures better job opportunities, however 46% say that this has little or no influence. Figures from Eurostat showed that the unemployment rate for those under 25 stood at 39.2% in June 2017, the second highest after Greece.
