21 September 2018

Spain’s construction sector employed more than 1.2 million professionals in the second quarter of 2018, an increase of 7.2% from the same period last year and the highest figure since the second quarter of 2012, according to a study from Randstad.

Randstad’s study also analysed construction employment growth by region and found that the sector reported growth in 14 out of 17 communities compared to the previous year. Navarre (35%), Castilla-La Mancha (24.3%) and Andalusia (22.2%) were the regions that saw the most improvement.

In absolute terms, Catalonia, Andalusia and Madrid accounted for 47.3% of all employed people in the construction sector during the period.
