Romania – Number of job vacancies fall in Q1

Romania’s job vacancies recorded a fall of 3,800 in the first quarter of 2018 when compared  to the same period last year, according to data from the Romanian National Institute of Statistics.

The total number of job vacancies stood at 54,800 in the first quarter of 2018 which converts to a vacancy rate of 1.20%, a decrease of  0.11% compared to last year.

In  the  first  quarter  of  2018,  the  highest job  vacancy  rates  were  registered  in  other  service  activities  (2.95%),  in  public  administration (2.65%), and in human health and social  work  activities  (2.07%).

Meanwhile, the biggest increase in job vacancy rates  were  reported in the real  estate sector (up 0.49%).

According to Eurostat, Romania’s unemployment rate stood at 4.5% in March 2018.
