07 December 2011

The majority of Romanians (66%) do not encourage their children to opt for a job similar to their own, 30% said they would probably encourage their children to follow in their professional footsteps and only 4% said that they would definitely encourage them. 28% said that their children should decide for themselves, according to new research carried out by job board BestJobs and reported by news agency Actmedia.

Almost half (42%) think that IT is a good industry to find a job in but lower percentages were recorded for engineering (9%), healthcare (7%), economics (6%), marketing and other fields (3%) and sales (2%).

The survey was carried out nationwide in November 2011 on a sample of 1,600 people.
