The majority of companies in Portugal are planning to recruit this year, according to the human resources barometer of the Kaizen Institute in Portugal.

Data from the Kaizen Institute showed that when it comes to hiring, 73% of companies prioritise recruiting professionals with up to five years' experience.

This was followed by graduates (55%). The lowest-ranked when it comes to hierarchy in hiring, were professionals with 10 to 20 years' experience (3%), and professionals with more than 20 years of experience (0%).

Meanwhile, when it comes to people management, 62% of companies say that creating a culture of commitment and promoting excellence in performance is the greatest challenge. This was followed by the attraction and retention of talent (20%).
