Poland – Work Service revenue up 7% last year, making cross-border service a priority

19 April 2018

Work Service, a Poland-based recruitment firm, reported earlier this month that revenue rose 7.3% in 2017 to more than PLN 2.6 billion (US$745.2 million). The company also noted that in 2017 it decided to leave the Russian market because of business uncertainty, sold its IT Kontrakt System Group and concluded an agreement to sell share in its Exact Systems Group. Revenue rose 11.5% excluding Kontack System Group results.

The company now has a lighter cost structure to improve long-term profitability, said Maciej Witucki, president of the board.

For 2018, the company reported unemployment is low and there are growing staff shortages in the countries its serves such as Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania. The company reported this is causing a demand for cross-border services, and its making such services a priority

“Last year, as part of our cross-border exchange, we helped more than 10,000 people find work in other countries,” Witucki said. “This applies to Poles in Germany and the Czech Republic, but also to Ukrainians in Poland, Hungarians in Austria and Serbs in Slovakia. This year in terms of labour migrations promises to be on record levels, because recruitment difficulties in our region are growing and the demand of companies is increasing.”
