Poland – Businesses created 11% more jobs in the first half of the year

Polish companies created more than 390,000 new jobs in the first half of 2017, an 11% increase compared to last year, according to figures from the Central Statistics Office.

The figures also showed that during the same period, the number of job losses stood at 140,000, meaning that the net amount of jobs grew by 250,000.

Most of the jobs came from the trade sector as well as companies operating in the automotive repair sector. The industrial sector was also a major contributor to jobs during the H1 period.

Meanwhile, research published by ManpowerGroup’s employment outlook for Q4 2017, showed that the seasonally adjusted Net Employment Outlook stands at +8%. Of the 750 Polish employers surveyed by ManpowerGroup, 12% anticipate adding to their workforces in the coming quarter, 5% plan reductions and 78% expect no change.
