ManpowerGroup has announced the appointment of Harld Peters as Regional President, Northern Europe effective January 1, 2020. Peters will oversee all of ManpowerGroup's brands and offerings across the region – Manpower, Experis, Right Management and ManpowerGroup Solutions, and will report to Chairman & CEO Jonas Prising. Peters joins ManpowerGroup from UPS where he has held leadership positions across Europe and Asia, most recently as President of UPS China and previously President for West Europe. He brings extensive experience of leading technology-driven transformation and accelerated growth across a variety of P&L roles.

HMRC announced the appointment of Jim Harra as the new Chief Executive and First Permanent Secretary at HM Revenue and Customs. Harra’s appointment has been made by the Prime Minister with the agreement of the Chancellor for the Exchequer and Cabinet Secretary. It follows an internal recruitment exercise. Harra has been interim Chief Executive since 1 October 2019 and Second Permanent Secretary since January 2018. Previously Harra held the dual role of Tax Assurance Commissioner and Director General Customer Strategy and Tax Design in HMRC. The government said there are arrangements to appoint a successor as Second Permanent Secretary who will be announced in due course.

Alexander Mann Solutions announced that it has appointed Claudia Nuttgens as global head of assessment and selection, and Jane Clark as global head of emerging talent consulting, in a move which strengthens its consulting arm. Nuttgens brings with her a 20-year career history in leadership and organisational development, personality assessment, assessment centre design, and executive coaching. She has also led her own consulting business over the last nine years, and built a diverse portfolio of client work specialising in evidence-based approaches to talent as well as applying innovative and integrated approaches to assessment and selection. Clark has worked in a variety of senior roles within the global investment banking and financial services industry with companies such as Credit Suisse, Fidelity and Barclays.
