Number of temp jobs in France falls for third consecutive quarter

Temporary employment in France fell for the third consecutive quarter in the third quarter, according to INSEE, the French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies. The number of temporary jobs fell by 15,300 from the second quarter to a total of 772,500. Data was reported on 3 November.

On a year-over-year basis, the number of temporary jobs in France was down by 38,200, INSEE reported.

Temp jobs in France were also down by 3,500 compared to their pre-pandemic level recorded at the end of 2019.

Total private employment in France also edged down by 0.7%, or 17,700 jobs, in the third quarter compared to the second. However, private employment was still up by 138,800 year over year.

Total private employment in the third quarter was 21.1 million.
