Assemblin Norway, a firm that installs and maintains technical systems for air, water and energy in Norway, Sweden and Finland, acquired Ariemi AS, a Tønsberg, Norway-based staffing firm serving the construction, civil engineering and industry segments with an emphasis on heating and sanitation installers. Overall, Ariemi has some 130 employees.

The acquisition was announced late last month.

“Our major clients in both the private and public sectors, want us to use our own, permanent employees as much as possible in our project assignments,” said Torkil Skancke Hansen, CEO and business area manager at Assemblin Norway. “To be able to meet this wish, the strategy of Assemblin in Norway is to increase its share of in-house personnel. This acquisition is part of that strategy, enabling us to secure expertise, obtain better opportunities to develop our services and strengthen our competitiveness.”

The agreement with Ariemi entails Assemblin taking on all of its employees, both administrative workers as well as heating and sanitation installers.

“Many of these employees have worked for Assemblin previously. They know us well, and we know what they are capable of,” Skancke Hansen said. “The labour market has been under severe pressure for a long time, and now we have the opportunity to strengthen our workforce with a large group of experienced and skilled specialists, which is good both for us and for our customers.”
