Netherlands – USG People acquires majority stake in Netwerven

03 October 2014

Dutch staffing company USG People (USG: NL) announced that it has further expanded its online services with the acquisition of 51% of the shares of Netwerven, an advisor that helps to build and deploy recruitment strategies and optimise recruitment processes.

Founded in the Netherlands in 2006, Netwerven markets itself as an organisation that helps employers with activities on the dividing line between effectively using online recruitment and online marketing.

The main driver behind acquiring a majority stake in Netwerven is to provide USG People with a distinctive online recruitment proposition aimed at increasing added value for its clients by arranging the recruitment and selection process both effectively and efficiently.

Rob Zandbergen, CEO of USG People, commented: "Netwerven’s activities will help us further expand our online services, in line with our strategy. We are convinced that Netwerven is a valuable addition to our existing portfolio of services.”

While financial details of the acquisition were not announced, it was revealed that the acquisition was paid for in cash and financed from USG People’s own resources. The acquisition is expected to immediately contribute to earnings.
