Netherlands – Textkernel acquires candidate engagement start-up Joboti

17 March 2023

Textkernel, a Dutch-based AI solutions provider for the recruitment industry announced its acquisition of Joboti, a candidate engagement technology provider also based in the Netherlands.

Financial details were not disclosed.

Joboti is a specialised automated candidate engagement technology provider that offers personalised job recommendations, guidance, and feedback to job seekers. Founded in 2016 by Luuk van Neerven and Stephan Kockelkoren, the company offers multi-channel communication solutions (such as Whatsapp and SMS) and candidate engagement workflow automation.

Textkernel, backed by strategic software investor Main Capital Partners, said the move marks another significant step in Textkernel’s global buy-and-build strategy and reinforces its position as a ‘leading value-added partner to corporate, staffing and software vendor clients’.

“This acquisition brings together two organisations with a shared vision of providing seamless, automated, and scalable solutions for recruiters and sourcing professionals,” Textkernel stated. “The combination of Textkernel’s cutting-edge parsing and matching technology and Joboti’s innovative candidate engagement technology creates a powerful platform for recruiters to find and engage with the right candidates with minimal effort.”

Textkernel said its acquisition of Joboti allows for the extension of its AI-powered recruitment solutions by incorporating Joboti’s capability to engage with multiple candidates simultaneously through multi-channel communication, including popular platforms like Whatsapp, and automate time-consuming steps in the recruitment process.

“By automating various communication workflows in the recruitment process, including job alerts, GDPR checks, pre-screenings, interview scheduling, and feedback messages, Joboti’s technology streamlines the process of engaging with candidates, while reducing the workload of the recruiter,” the company stated.

Joboti will work as an operating unit within the Textkernel Group for the immediate future. All Joboti employees, including those holding managerial positions and the founders, will remain with the company.

Gerard Mulder, CEO of Textkernel, said, “Joboti’s automated candidate engagement technology provides a perfect addition to our AI-powered recruitment solutions. By incorporating Joboti’s capabilities, we can offer our clients an automated recruitment solution that allows recruiters and sourcers to focus more on candidate experience and making placements faster. This will significantly increase their efficiency, reduce costs and save them valuable time.”

Luuk van Neerven, founder and CEO of Joboti, said, “Joining Textkernel is an exciting step for Joboti. We are thrilled to be a part of a leading AI solution provider and to bring our automated candidate engagement technology to an even larger audience. Together, we can create even more innovative recruitment solutions that will revolutionise the industry.”

Pieter van Bodegraven, Partner at Main and Chair of the Supervisory Board of Textkernel, said, “Joboti’s innovative AI-automated solution for candidate engagement along all phases of the recruitment lifecycle will add to Textkernel’s existing product suite and helps further expand the company’s value proposition for corporate, staffing and HR software clients.”
