Swets Group, a Dutch maritime oil and gas firm, announced that it has acquired ODV Maritiem, a maritime personnel provider based in the Netherlands.

The acquisition was made effective from 1 June 2018.

Swets Group owns Swets Inland shipping, an employment agency that provides recruitment and selection and focuses on inland navigation personnel including Dutch and foreign staff for ships.

ODV Maritiem supplies permanent and temporary nautical personnel.

In a statement, Swets Group said that the acquisition creates a ‘solid, nautical service provider’.

"From 1 June we are the largest nautical service provider" Maurice Swets, Director of Swets Group, said. "Due to the strong growth in the nautical world and the positive developments of recent years, we must use the possibilities to pool all knowledge. This way we can optimise and digitise our processes even better. For our customers, this means that we can offer a total solution for all capacity issues in the nautical field and be prepared for the future ".

No further details of the transaction were disclosed.
