Netherlands – Revenue in the temporary employment sector up

Turnover in the temporary employment sector increased by 8% compared to the previous year, according to the Dutch Federation of Private Employment Agencies (ABU). ABU also reported that the total amount of hours worked by temporary workers in the Netherlands grew by 7% in period 7 (weeks 25-28), compared to the same period last year.

ABU divides the year into four-week periods reported, with the 7th period the most recently ended. This period had an equal amount of workable days compared to the same period last year, so no correction was applied.

Temporary workers in the administrative sector decreased 2% in hours worked in comparison to the same period last year and turnover decreased 3%. Hours worked by temporary workers in the industrial sector increased 14%, and turnover increased 16% compared to the same period last year. Furthermore, the amount of worked hours in the technical sector increased 6%, and turnover also grew 6%.
