Netherlands – Number of job vacancies rise for 12th consecutive quarter, temporary jobs sector grows

The number of job vacancies in the Netherlands has increased for the 12th consecutive quarter in June with a total of 155,000 unfilled vacancies, an increase of 5,000 compared to the previous quarter, according to the Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek.

Meanwhile, the total number of jobs of employed persons increased by 38,000 in the second quarter of 2016. The growing number of jobs is mainly attributed to temporary workers. In one year, the number of jobs in the temporary employment sector grew by 10%.

Unemployment fell from 6.5% to 6.3% in the second quarter.
