Employees in the Netherlands feel optimistic about digitization and automation with 83% viewing it as an opportunity, according to a report from Dutch technology entrepreneurial organisation FME.

The report, Smart Working, Make Work of Technology, polled nearly 7,000 employees. It showed that most Dutch employees welcome new technologies and do not believe it will lead to job losses. Furthermore, the majority believe that technology makes work more challenging and fun and look forward to working with new technology.

Meanwhile, 90% of employees say that they feel responsible for keeping up with developments in their field.

"We must embrace the enthusiasm and positivism of the employees with all parties. Let the robots come,” FME Chairman Ineke Dezentjé Hamming, said.
