According to data from the ZZP Barometer in collaboration with Easy Staff, 1 in 6 freelancers experience a delay of more than 45 days for payment of an e invoice by clients and 40% of these freelancers are experiencing financial uncertainty.

The survey shows that uncertainty amongst freelancers is also fueled by the DBA which affects independent contractors.

''52 .4% of all self-employed workers are worried about their livelihood as a freelancer since the introduction of the DBA law, Christiaan Hesselink of Easy Staff, said.

Meanwhile, of the freelancers who wait more than 45 days for payment, 20% of them wait 60 days or more before they are paid. Data also showed that 57% of self-employed workers are not insured against disability.
