Netherlands – Analysts expect Randstad’s Q3 growth to slow

29 October 2014

Ahead of the release of Randstad’s third quarter financial results tomorrow, analysts expect the company’s revenue for the three months ending 30 September 2014 to grow by +3.6% to €4.5 billion, easing from year-on-year growth of +4% in both Q1 and Q2, reports iex.nl

Yves Franco, an analyst with Belgian bank KBC, expects the company to report organic revenue growth of +4.1% in Q3 2014, against +4.5% in the second quarter of this year. Mr Franco believes that Randstad will be cautious in its outlook, adding that it would be optimistic to expect growth to accelerate in the fourth quarter

The gradual growth experienced by the company is not expected to improve, so Randstad will possibly have to take additional measures to maintain profitability levels. However, Mr Franco believes that the company is on the right track to combat the difficult economic conditions.

Following bad news from the Eurozone, concerns about the staffing industry have increased, with shares of some of the largest staffing companies coming under pressure. However, Dutch multinational bank ING pointed out that Randstad rivals, Adecco and ManpowerGroup, have noted a cautious, rather than a panicked, response from their clients to recent economic developments. ManpowerGroup reported revenue growth (in constant currency) of +4.6% when it announced its Q3 2014 results last week, which was a softer performance than had been anticipated. Adecco does not publish its Q3 results until 6th November.
