Netherlands – Agency workers at airport to get up to €50,000 each, judge rules

27 September 2018

A judge ruled that 16 temporary workers at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol are receiving a supplemental payment of between €6,500 and €50,000 each, according to an announcement by Dutch union FNV on 21st September.

The temps were cargo handlers and worked through a company called Flexcargo for DHL or Menzies, and did not receive an irregularity allowance, the union said.

Most of the workers, many of whom are from the UK and Poland, are now directly employed by DHL, according to the union.

FNV also reached an agreement in June with a recruitment firm called In Person regarding 400 parcel sorters at PostNL who were underpaid.
