The total amount of hours worked by temporary workers in the Netherlands grew by 1% in the ninth period (weeks 33-36) of 2018, compared to the same period last year, according to the Dutch Federation of Private Employment Agencies (ABU).
ABU divides the year into four-week periods, with the ninth period the most recently ended.
Meanwhile, ABU reported that turnover increased by 6% in comparison to the same period last year.
Temporary workers in the administrative sector saw their hours remain the same when compared to the same period last year however turnover increased 4% in the same period.
Hours worked by temporary workers in the industrial sector saw an increase of 1% and turnover increased 7% compared to last year.
The number of hours worked in the technical sector increased by 2% while turnover grew by 5% compared to the same period last year.
Data from Eurostat for August found that the Netherlands unemployment rate stood at 3.9%.
