Netherlands – ABU appoints new president

12 April 2017

The Dutch Federation of Private Employment Agencies (ABU), has appointed Sieto de Leeuw as new President.

De Leeuw takes over as president from Aart van der Gaag, who left the organisation in June of last year. Since July of 2016, de Leeuw had been acting president of ABU.

Before working with ABU, De Leeuw had previously worked as Managing Director of Social and Public Affairs for Randstad. He had also worked as a Managing Director for ABU from 1996 to 1999.

“Strengthening the position of the ABU and its members further is necessary,” de Leeuw said. “Our industry provides many people stepping stone to work and also gives tens of thousands a fixed income. We therefore have a vital function in the labour market. The message I want to send is to continue to communicate. "
