Majority of employees in Poland say organisational culture is important: Hays

05 October 2023

Most employees in Poland (92%) consider organisational culture to be important, according to a survey by Hays Poland.

The survey was conducted at the turn of August and September 2023 among nearly 1,000 specialists. It found 4% disagreed with the statement that organisational culture is important while 4% did not give a clear answer.

Hays noted that the respondents' answers show that organisational culture does not only refer to the norms and rules of cooperation, but also to the communication style (78%), the prevailing atmosphere (70%) and the values promoted by the organisation (66%).

Agnieszka Czarnecka, Head of HR Consultancy at Hays Poland said, “For almost half of employees, organisational culture is also an equality and diversity strategy. More and more people notice that a company is not only a business institution, but also an entity that may have a social mission and space to promote important views and values.”

According to employees, the least important factors in organisational culture include the hierarchical structure of the company (36%), dress code or its lack (28%) and CSR(corporate social responsibility) activities (20%).

Meanwhile, Hays’ research showed that 66% of respondents attach great importance to the description of an organisation’s culture at the initial stage of recruitment (when familiarising themselves with the potential employer's offer).

“Many employers take steps to build or improve organisational culture. Companies understand that a satisfied and engaged employee is a person who shares the values and mission of the organisation, has space to build positive relationships and simply feels good among other co-workers,” Czarnecka added.
