Latvia – Registered unemployment rate declines in August

The level of registered unemployment in Latvia declined by 0.2% to 8.1% in August compared to July, according to figures from the state agency.

The number of registered unemployed people had declined by 1,761 people over the course of the month.

The lowest unemployment level of August was registered in Riga region at 5.2%. The highest was registered in Latgale 17.5%. For the cities Riga registered a 5.0% unemployment rate while Rezekne had a 15% unemployment rate.

A total of 5,032 unemployed people registered with the Latvian State Agency found full-time jobs in August.
