Jobindex says turnover to increase despite decline in ads

01 March 2024

Jobindex A/S reported on 26 February the number of online job ads in Denmark fell 10% during 2023 to approximately 25,000 in January and the job market will likely see a slight decline this year. Still, despite the cooling job market, the job board operator forecast turnover of DKK 400 million (€53.7 million) this year. That’s up from DKK 383 million (€51.4 million) in 2023. The company said it is continuing to develop new products and create added value for customers and job seekers.

“The job market in 2023 was weaker than the year before, but that was expected, and Denmark is now at a level where the number of job advertisements corresponds to the time before the [Covid] outbreak,” Jobindex Director Kaare Danielsen said in a press release translated from Danish. “However, the figures cover a number of shifts between industries: Today, it is the pharmaceutical industry and defense that are most eager to hire. On the other hand, the IT industry is holding back on initiating larger projects, and this is clearly seen in the number of advertisements in the area.”

Jobindex also reported more than 1 million individual users on its website for the first time in January 2024.

“This corresponds to a third of the workforce of 3 million visiting Jobindex in January because they are curious about the possibilities of changing workplaces,” Danielsen said. “Jobindex is thus a gathering place for an incredible number of people who keep an eye on the job market, even if they are in work.”

Jobindex was delisted from the First North stock exchange on 30 June 2023.
