Italy – Average number of temporary employees up 0.8% in November

The average number of temporary employees in Italy in November rose slightly by 0.8% when compared to the same period last year, according to figures from Ebitemp, the bilateral organisation for temporary employment representing employers’ associations and unions.

The number of hours worked by temporary agency workers in November rose by 2% on an annual basis. And the hours worked per worker increased 1.1%.

The total payroll of temporary workers in November recorded an increase of 10% compared to the same month last year, according to Ebitemp.

Meanwhile, figures from Eurostat showed that the unemployment rate in Italy stood at 10.5% in November 2018, the third-highest of the EU member states.
