Ireland – Job vacancies rise by 9% (BreakingNews.ie)

Irish job vacancies rose by 9% year over year in the first quarter, BreakingNews.ie reported citing data from Irishjobs.ie. Growth occurred across multiple sectors. Science pharmaceuticals and food rose 23% year over years while medical professionals and healthcare rose 15%. However, vacancies in sales fell by 19%, and marketing vacancies fell by 11%. “The Irish economy is in robust health. According to estimates by the CSO, in 2017, we were the fastest-growing economy in the EU for the fourth consecutive year,” general manager of IrishJobs.ie, Orla Moran, said. “Unemployment is low and is set to drop further in 2019.”
