HeadHunter Group president dies

Russian job board HeadHunter announced on Friday that Mikhail Zhukov, President of the company, has passed away at the age of 56.

"Mikhail's passing is an irreplaceable, untimely loss for HeadHunter and our employees. We extend our condolences to all his family and friends," the company said in a statement.

Zhukov, led HeadHunter from 2008 to 2023 as CEO. In January 2023, he became president of the company responsible for managing and developing strategic relationships with key shareholders and governmental authorities as well as risk management, including information security projects.

Zhukov was also a member of the HH board of directors and a director at real estate classified ad service Cian.

According to SUWW, a Dutch foundation supporting Ukrainian victims of war, some of HeadHunter’s more recent growth has been due to the recruitment of military personnel, privateers and police to take part in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

According to Russian news agency Interfax, the reason for his death was not given. The date of the funeral will be announced later.
