Germany saw record growth in employment to 43.5 million workers in the second quarter of this year according to the Federal Statistics Office (Destatis).

Destatis stated that “In general, an increase in employment in the second quarter of the year is driven by the general revival of outdoor occupations in the spring, which is usual for the season.”

The largest employment increases were seen in the services sector. The number of employees increased in public service, education and health by 207,000 workers or 2.0 %.
