24 May 2018

A new study from the German Institute for Employment Research found that 50% of male employees and 40% of female employees want to cut their weekly working hours by at least 2.5 hours.

The research also found that this figure was higher particularly among employees with higher educational qualifications as well as those considered to be independent professionals.

In contrast, 17% of female and 10% of male employees would like to work for at least 2.5 hours longer per week.

Approximately 40% percent of all employees (male and female) are satisfied with the extent of their working time. On average, men would like to work around 37 hours per week, while women say approximately 30 hours per week.
