Germany — CEO of Xing, the German equivalent of LinkedIn, takes sabbatical

18 November 2016

The CEO of Xing AG, the German equivalent of LinkedIn, announced he is taking a three-month sabbatical.

CEO Thomas Vollmoeller wrote about the sabbatical in a blog post on Thursday from Sydney, Australia.

Vollmoeller plans to return to work at the beginning of the year.

Reuters quotes Vollmoeller’s blog post: “Why a sabbatical? For the same reason that many other people have the desire to take time off. I want to consciously step away from the day-to-day business for a limited amount of time.” Reuters also reports Vollmoeller has been traveling since October with finance chief Ingo Cho filling in while he is gone.
